One small child, one strong will, the love and compassion of family and community…
That’s how Kisses from Keegan & Friends was born.
Keegan was your typical 7-year-old little girl who loved to cheer and spend time with her family and friends. On October 11, her life and that of our family took a drastic turn when she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After over 2 years of chemotherapy, pills, shots, lumbar punctures, surgeries and other complications, with the love and support of family, friends and strangers alike, Keegan won her battle with cancer.
While Keegan was in treatment, we were fortunate enough to meet some other amazing cancer warriors and their families, along with the incredible staff at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. We were able to witness a few fighters ring the bell, signifying the end of treatment, but also had become friends with some families whose child lost their battle.
Keegan’s battle and our family’s journey with childhood cancer was the driving force to start “Kisses from Keegan and Friends,” so we could give back to others on their own difficult journey. We want to offer them time to be a family with no outside worries. We know we can’t take cancer away, but maybe we can help put it on the backburner—at least for a little while.
